In the event of inclement weather this page would be used to inform you of events causing delays or closures for Odessa College.

Weather Alert | Monday, June 26, 2023 – Due to extreme temperatures expected tomorrow, the Odessa College campus in Odessa, TX will observe a modified schedule tomorrow: 7:30 am until 3 pm on Tuesday, June 27th. The Sports Center, Children’s Center and extension centers in Andrews, Monahans and Pecos will maintain regular hours. Summer camps will meet as scheduled.

Weather Alert | Thursday, February 2, 2023 – Due to continued, inclement weather and icy road conditions, Odessa College, the extension centers in Andrews, Monahans and Pecos, as well as the Sports Center, the Learning Resources Center, and the Children’s Center will open at 10 am on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

• Classes that meet before 10 am Thursday will meet remotely. Students should check email and Blackboard for any specific announcements from instructors regarding class time, assignments, etc.
• Brunch and dinner service will be available for students who live in residence.

Campus Closing or Delayed Start – Emergency or Weather

Odessa College may close the campus and/or extension centers due to inclement weather or other emergency/hazardous conditions. When such conditions exist, the College President, or designee, will make the official decision regarding the closing of the college’s facilities.

• The President of Odessa College, or designee, will determine when classes are to be cancelled, or when the College is to be closed because of inclement weather or other emergency conditions. Only the decision to delay or close will be communicated. It should be assumed that the College is open if there is no notification of delay or closure.
• A decision to close the campus and/or extension centers for the entire day will be communicated by 5:30 am or as changing weather conditions warrant.
• A decision to delay opening the campus and/or extensions centers will be communicated by 5:30 am or as changing weather conditions warrant. Classes that are scheduled to start before a delay will not meet.
• A decision to close the campus and/or extension centers during the work/school day will be communicated in a timely manner as conditions warrant.
• Students participating in clinical or practicum experiences, including continuing education, will need to follow specific instructions provided in advance by their program faculty regarding how inclement weather closures or delays will impact attendance.
• Students who live in residence will be provided the weekend meal plan: brunch (11 am – 12:30 pm) and dinner (5 – 6:30 pm). Updates will be sent via text and the Remind Me app.
• The College President or designee will determine status of campus and/or extension centers (closure or delayed start) and communicate with the Administrative Team.
• The Administrative Team will communicate inclement weather status and updates to direct reports to ensure the following are updated and/or informed:
