Dear OC Family and Friends:
We recognize these past days and weeks have been difficult for many and know that our thoughts and prayers are for the health and safety of all. We are extremely grateful for the many individuals in our community who are tirelessly fighting the spread of COVID-19 and those who are helping us maintain a sense of normalcy during one of the most unsettling and unpredictable times of our lives.
Amid the stress and uncertainty, we are pleased to be able to keep our students a priority and respond swiftly to their needs. These students will soon join our community’s workforce as they complete their degrees in areas such as Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiological Technology and Education that are needed now more than ever. We are incredibly grateful for what you have done and continue to do to support Odessa College. For example:
- $100,000 Emergency Scholarship Fund: This fund was put in place this week to cover tuition costs of students who have be impacted by COVID-19. The Financial Aid office has received dozens of requests for assistance this week.
- Wrangler Food Pantry: Over 80 bags of food/supplies were distributed to students over the last two weeks. More food and supplies are needed to help a growing number of students who have been impacted by COVID-19.
We have taken these proactive measures to ensure our students can continue their education at Odessa College despite a constantly changing environment. Our work and our mission must be forward-thinking, now more than ever. As you consider how you will help the Odessa Community, we ask that you continue to think of OC during this pandemic. On behalf of the entire Odessa College Family, I again want to thank you for your continued support and commitment as we navigate these unchartered times. Together, we will face this challenge head-on. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need any assistance. In the meantime, I hope everyone remains healthy and safe.
