Odessa College Radiologic Technology students recently honored at reception

ODESSA (July 12, 2016) – Medical Center Hospital’s Radiology Department recently recognized 14 Odessa College radiologic technology graduates for the completion of over 1400 clinical program hours by each graduate.

To honor the graduates, the MCH Radiology Department hosted an evening reception at the MCH Annex Building. Graduates were joined by their families and OC faculty members in celebration of their accomplishments. The OC Radiologic Technology Department presented special awards to the following students:

Academic Excellence Award – Jovan Subia

Clinical Excellence Award – Jovan Subia

Most Conscientious – Maria Zavala

Most Improved – Samantha Anderson 

During the evening, Odessa College’s Radiology Technology Department also recognized one of their own, program clinical instructor Vicki Hughes, for her 25 years of service to the program.

Graduates from the program were Samantha Anderson, Shaylee Armendariz, Stephanie Barboza, Kailey Burson, Christina Carrasco, Dinora Frias, Matthew Gonzales, Kristin Lara, Shannon Lay, Santos Lujan, Clint Rodriguez, Jovan Subia, Laura Voss, and Maria Zavala. 

Catherine Everett, clinical coordinator and associate professor of radiologic technology at Odessa College, said that in the next month or so, the graduates will take the national exam through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to become certified as registered radiologic technologists.
