You are almost there – one more week until spring break! Best of luck on your finals and don’t forget to use your resources: the LRC is open late and prepared to assist you. Need tutoring? Email LRCTutoring@odessa.edu for assistance.
Spring 2 begins Tuesday, March 16th. Online, hybrid and face-to-face courses will meet as scheduled. Students should check email and Blackboard for any specific announcements from instructors regarding the first week of class. When you return to campus after spring break, daily health screenings will continue. We recommend that you sanitize your hands prior to entering the classroom(s) and wear double masks to mitigate the spread of the virus due to increased exposure during spring break travel and gatherings.
As you know, we are still in the middle of a pandemic. While things seem to be improving, we remind you to continue to wear a mask, keep your distance and wash your hands to ensure a strong start to the new term. If you have been exposed, or are experiencing the following symptoms, please stay home and contact your instructor to make arrangements for remote learning while in isolation or quarantine:
- cough;
- shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
- chills;
- repeated shaking with chills;
- muscle pain;
- headache;
- sore throat;
- loss of taste or smell;
- diarrhea; or
- feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 99.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you test positive for COVID-19 during spring break, please email kmckay@odessa.edu for next steps and continued learning.
If you have COVID concerns, contact our OC CARES partner Medical Center Health System at 432-640-2100 or mchoncall@echd.org to speak with a medical professional, discuss your symptoms, or schedule a COVID-19 test. Student tests are $15.
