The Globe Theater

The Odessa College campus is home to The Globe Theater – a 410-seat venue hosting community theater performances, musical performances, and other community activities. Built in the 1960s in response to a proposal from Odessa College Professor Marjorie Morris, The Globe continues to stage classical and modern plays, as well as festivals honoring The Bard himself.

A replica of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in Southwark, London, the octagonal space features an authentic Elizabethan stage.  Shakespearean scholar Dr. Allardyce Nicoll called the theater “the most nearly authentic replica of Shakespeare’s own Globe anywhere on Earth.”
