The MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (FIELD OF STUDY), A.S. is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year university to earn a Bachelor of Science In Mechanical Engineering. Students in this program will Perform engineering tasks in designing machines, mechanically equipment, heat engine, gas turbine, and fluid systems.

This Associate of Science is a discipline that applies principles of engineering, applied science, and mathematics to design mechanical system components and system. Students will enroll in classes and labs to gain knowledge in mechanical engines, pumps, turbines, generators, gears, pulleys, and machine components.

Mechanical Engineering Courses at Odessa College follow the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Lower-Division Academic Course Guide Manual and are transferable to ABET accredited four-year universities. The MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (FIELD OF STUDY), A.S. is a two-year, 60 credit hour program can lead to an entry-level Engineering technician careers or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at four-year universities.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (FIELD OF STUDY), A.S. prepares students to work in Mechanical Engineering jobs such as Aerospace Engineering, Automotive, Bio Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Robotics, and Fluid and Thermal Systems.
