Student Worker/Testing Center
Greet and provide excellent customer service to incoming students and test-takers in the Testing Center. Provide proctoring services to students and community members for a variety of exams.
Job Duties:
  • Greet and welcome visitors of the Testing Center.
  • Provide information as needed in person, by phone, or email.
  • Respond to questions from testing candidates.
  • Assist testers with the check-in/check-out process as required by each exam.
  • Maintain a friendly and calm environment for the testing center, while proctoring and ensuring the test security of each exam.
  • Assist testers with score interpretations.
  • Assist with scanning and tasks as assigned by the Senior Testing Examiner and Testing Clerk.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma required. Some college coursework preferred.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Use of computer and technology.
  • Strong communication skills.

Warehouse position     Part Time

Hours of operation are Mon-Thurs 8:00am-5:30pm & Friday 8:00am-1:00pm


Job brief

We are looking for a warehouse worker to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Warehouse worker responsibilities include storing materials, processing incoming packages, delivering packages, data entry and inventory of fixed assets, organizing and maintaining warehouse operations. The goal is to increase efficiency, accuracy and customer satisfaction.


  • Prepare and process packages for delivery or pickup using Jumptrac system and electronic signature.
  • Receive packages and pallets using forklift and pallet jack.
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits of fixed assets.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Complete logs for all fixed assets that incoming or being deployed to campus.
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations


  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75lbs
  • Ability to use forklift or willing to be trained to use forklift
  • Willing to work in warehouse during hot summer or cold winter.

Academic Partnerships is looking for a student worker who can help with registration documentation scanning, answering the phones, and being a nice friendly face for visiting students, parents, and school district employees.

Assist the Odessa College Police Department in patrolling the campus area. Report any suspicious/emergency activity they may see, and assist police at major events and other security issues that may arise on campus.


Generally works under the direct supervision of the student patrol coordinator (OCPD Patrol Sergeant) with direction from the on-duty OCPD Officer.


  1. Patrol a designated area of the campus area on foot. Report any suspicious activity or emergency circumstances which may require police or medical intervention.
  2. Observe and report issues that could cause safety concerns around campus.
  3. Conduct walking escorts when requested by students, faculty, staff, or community members.
  4. Assist police at major events with pedestrian traffic and patrol. This includes the following events:
    • Sporting events
    • Graduation
  5. Provide security for different events which may arise during the school year.
  6. Know the policies and procedures in the student patrol manual, applicable sections of OCPD general orders, and applicable state law, Odessa College Board Policy and student code of conduct.


  1. Must be an Odessa College student.
  2. Knowledge of the Odessa College campus geography
  3. Ability to verbally communicate effectively during normal and stressful situations.
  4. Ability to communicate in written form.
  5. Ability to follow written and verbal directions supplied by the Odessa College Police Department.
  6. Ability to use a police radio and communicate with the same effectively.
  7. Must be able to pass a background investigation, as well as maintain confidentiality in law enforcement and other related areas, in which they may come in contact with protected/sensitive information

O.C. Visual and Performing Arts Department and The Globe Theatre


DUTIES: Assist in the construction of stage scenery, the upkeep of the O.C. performance and storage spaces, and the support of O.C Fine Arts events.

HOURS: 6-16 hours weekly, maximum of 19.5 hours per week.  Afternoon hours are preferred, Saturday hours are available during peak work periods.

LOCATION: The Globe Theatre at Odessa College, south side of campus between Century Commons and The School of Culinary Arts.

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of basic hand tools and wood construction methods and/or painting.  Will train.

Part Time Student Housing Front Desk Assistant 19hrs

Duties include: Student assistants will help with check in/ check out of guest, organize mail, provide customer service to student residents/ potential student residents, and assist professional staff with other front office tasks as assigned.


Student Support Specialist

Wrangler Express/Call Center

Part-Time Student Worker (19 Hours per week)

General Summary:                               

The Wrangler Express/Call Center will provide first-class customer service to all customers by phone, email, instant chat and in person. This area serves as the front door to Odessa College and also is a first-call/visit resolution center for all student services-related needs. The Wrangler Express/Call Center serves as the first point of contact for visitors as well as the main operator for the college and directs all visitors/callers to the appropriate department or college personnel.  

Specific Position Duties:   

  • Provide first-class customer service to all customers by phone, email, chat and in person;
  • Provide information to prospective and current students and the general public via phone, email, chat and in person regarding all areas and services of the college;
  • Responds to all student inquires regarding admissions, financial aid, registration, account balances and holds;
  • Processes/triages all email inquires for registration, drops, adds, and withdraws, etc.;
  • This position is responsible for processing various forms, admissions applications, linking documents, etc.;
  • Serve as a cashier, properly taking payments and receipting correctly; properly reconcile cash drawer daily and record balance in a daily log;
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures and quickly learn new or additional ones, multi-tasking and paying close attention to detail required;
  • Demonstrate success of teamwork;
  • Perform other duties assigned.  

 Minimum Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule­ – mornings, evenings, some holidays and Saturday work is required;
  • Typing skills including 10 key with the ability to produce accurate records and professional quality material through use of computer keyboard;
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, email and instant messaging software;
  • The position requires excellent communications skills (verbal and written);
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, chat and in person;
  • Must be able to sit and use the computer for long periods of time;
  • Ability to work under stress and in a high pace environment, working both independently and as a team member while dealing with all customers in an effective, efficient and professional manner;  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college course work preferred;
  • Bilingual (verbal and written) a plus;
  • Willingness to participate in activities supporting students and Odessa College stakeholders, including community service;
  • Experience with various forms of technology and software applications
