Front Desk Attendant/ Sports Center               Student Worker               Up to 19 hours/week              WS/NWS

Summary: Welcome and assist all members, students, and guest of the Sports Center as well as ensure all have scanned intothe facility upon arrival.

Duties: Welcome all members, students, and guest to the Sports Center and ensure that all current members scan in to the facility and have current memberships before entering further.

Assist potential new members in beginning the membership process and coordination with Front Office staff as needed.

Assist with answering general questions via in-person or on the phone.

Take payment for day passes as needed.

Check out fitness towels and racquetball equipment. Be professional and courteous. Other duties as assigned.

Sports Center Lifeguard/            Student Worker            Up to 19 hours/week           WS/NWS   Certified/Uncertified

Summary: Supervise and ensure the safety of all members and guest, and cleanliness of the Indoor Pool and Outdoor Pool Deck.

Duties: Open the pool each day and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours.

Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify an safety issues.

Direct swimmers out of he pool in hazardous conditions. Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests. Organize and oversee pool parties.

Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool. Provide assistance to patrons when approriate or necessary. Be courteous and professional. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:  Current Lifeguard certification or the ability to acquire an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification prior to start date. Ability to pass pre-employment practical skills test in the water. Willingness to ensure a safe, clean, and welcome environment for all members, students, and guest.

Summary: Monitor the usage of and cleanliness of the ICA Gym area and Fitness equipment

Duties: Monitor the usage and ensure the cleanliness of the ICA Gym area, including the ICA Weight Room, and Equipment Check Out.

Clean the equipment of the ICA Weight Room, and all equipment checks out for usage. Ensure all members, students and guest are following the policies and procedures of each space, and using equipment safely and appropriately as well as assist users on how to use equipment as needed.

Summary: Minor the usage of and cleaning of the Fitness Center and 2nd Floor fitness areas.

Warehouse position     Part Time

Hours of operation are Mon-Thurs 8:00am-5:30pm & Friday 8:00am-1:00pm

 

Job brief

We are looking for a warehouse worker to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Warehouse worker responsibilities include storing materials, processing incoming packages, delivering packages, data entry and inventory of fixed assets, organizing and maintaining warehouse operations. The goal is to increase efficiency, accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process packages for delivery or pickup using Jumptrac system and electronic signature.
  • Receive packages and pallets using forklift and pallet jack.
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits of fixed assets.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Complete logs for all fixed assets that incoming or being deployed to campus.
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations

 

Requirements

  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75lbs
  • Ability to use forklift or willing to be trained to use forklift
  • Willing to work in warehouse during hot summer or cold winter.
  • Current driver's license

JOB DESCRIPTION     STUDENT PATROL OFFICER

FUNCTION

Assist the Odessa College Police Department in patrolling the campus area. Report any suspicious/emergency activity they may see, and assist police at major events and other security issues that may arise on campus.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Generally works under the direct supervision of the student patrol coordinator (OCPD Patrol Sergeant) with direction from the on-duty OCPD Officer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Patrol a designated area of the campus area on foot. Report any suspicious activity or emergency circumstances which may require police or medical intervention.
  2. Observe and report issues that could cause safety concerns around campus.
  3. Conduct walking escorts when requested by students, faculty, staff, or community members.
  4. Assist police at major events with pedestrian traffic and patrol. This includes the following events:
    • Sporting events
    • Graduation
  5. Provide security for different events which may arise during the school year.
  6. Know the policies and procedures in the student patrol manual, applicable sections of OCPD general orders, and applicable state law, Odessa College Board Policy and student code of conduct.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. Must be an Odessa College student.
  2. Knowledge of the Odessa College campus geography
  3. Ability to verbally communicate effectively during normal and stressful situations.
  4. Ability to communicate in written form.
  5. Ability to follow written and verbal directions supplied by the Odessa College Police Department.
  6. Ability to use a police radio and communicate with the same effectively.
  7. Must be able to pass a background investigation, as well as maintain confidentiality in law enforcement and other related areas, in which they may come in contact with protected/sensitive information

THEATRE SHOP ASSISTANT/CARPENTER

O.C. Visual and Performing Arts Department and The Globe Theatre

THIS POSITION IS FOR WORK STUDY QUALIFIED STUDENT WORKERS

DUTIES: Assist in the construction of stage scenery, the upkeep of the O.C. performance and storage spaces, and the support of O.C Fine Arts events.

HOURS: 6-16 hours weekly, maximum of 19.5 hours per week.  Afternoon hours are preferred, Saturday hours are available during peak work periods.

LOCATION: The Globe Theatre at Odessa College, south side of campus between Century Commons and The School of Culinary Arts.

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of basic hand tools and wood construction methods and/or painting.  Will train.
